Speech therapy on site
Since the school year 2011/12, speech therapy has been taking place on site in specially equipped rooms at the Weißfrauenschule. The offer is aimed at students who, for various reasons, cannot otherwise receive speech therapy. The cooperation takes place on the basis of a cooperation agreement between the Weißfrauenschule and the speech therapy practice Petra Sehrig and is supported by the Hessian Working Group for Health Education (HAGE) on behalf of the Hessian Ministry of Education, the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs and the associations of the health insurance companies in Hesse. The requirements for use correspond to the usual procedure in established speech therapy practices (conclusion of a contract, presentation of a medical prescription). Four qualified speech therapists currently look after around 30 students at the Weißfrauenschule several days a week.
The therapy sessions mostly take place in parallel to the lessons. The treatment rhythm is usually one 45-minute unit per week for each child. In addition to providing the most complete speech therapy possible, the aim of the cooperation is primarily to provide targeted support for the development of our students through a coordinated support concept with the therapists.
Our speech therapy is currently paused. We hope to be able to restart it soon.
