Mission statement

Language support

The aim of language therapy work is to develop and expand the communicative competence of the students.

Language competence is the basis for personal and learning development, for the creation of social relationships and thus in the long term for a self-determined life with successful communication.

The development of phonetic, semantic, syntactic and communicative language structures as well as the promotion of auditory perception is a central component of our language therapy work. Language promotion is based on the individual learning requirements and is a consistent teaching principle.

We work closely with the Speech therapists at our school, the extracurricular therapeutic institutions and, above all, with the parents.

Teaching and Promotion

The design of the lessons at the Weißfrauenschule adapts to the different abilities and needs of the students. Thanks to open forms of teaching, we have more time for individual help, language training and conversations about the individual learning.

At our school there is internal and external differentiation, cross-year and interdisciplinary learning, individual weekly plans, learning at stations, partner and small group work but also teacher-centered lessons.

The school day is rhighly structured. We start with an open beginning for everyone and generally work according to the class teacher principle and, if possible, in double hours. In addition to teaching, we offer different focuses and different forms of remedial teaching at all levels.

Individual support, personal learning plans, independent learning and helper systems are characteristic features in the classroom. So that all children acquire basic skills in reading and writing age-appropriate texts, we have increased the number of German lessons, 10 hours in class 1/2 and 8 hours in classes 3 and 4.

The children of the basic level receive additional individual support offers in small groups.

Pupils in grades 3 and 4 can take part in the “DeutschSommer” and “Endspurt” programs of the Polytechnic Society.

The primary school children can take advantage of the"Extended school support"to use.

A special focus in lesson development is the continuous work with support plans. These are twice a year, on the so-called SELFI day, discussed with parents, students and teachers and agreed new goals.
